They are indeed pretty....
But there were times living in upstate NY (Niagara Falls) and being stationed in MI, that I just didn't have the time to appreciate them, I was too busy shoveling...now I have a snow blower, 'cause the boys have moved out :D

Neat stuff! Watching sugars crystallise out of solution with the false color of a differential interference contrast micoscope at 500x magnification is absolutely incredible... hard not to lose hours just gazing at them... films behave most interestingly too...
Coulda been a crystallographer easy... best one I know is pretty nuts though...
