Title: Another Genius Idea from the mind of Hexx...

Problem - Way to many things for OOB servers -BP's CP's etc-

Proposed soultion? Purchase OOB ships with VP points.
Want a DN ? -Give up 50VP pts, Need to upgrade the BCH? Just lose 10 VPs.

Problem with Genoius solution? Side with the more VP's can "spend" the other guy into the ground

Solution? Have the side with the more VP's pay a <slightly> greater amount. Obviosuly they're winning
so High Command/ Emperor/whomever isn't convinced that they should automatically get whatever they ask for.


Does this (in theory) work or am I missing something?


Kinda like

CVA 60 VP
DN 50 VP
BCF 40 VP
BCG 35 VP
Upgrade BCH to BCV 15VP
Purchase Heavy Fighter research and carrier (F111's + NVH -unrestricts NVH (R in list) and allows limted deployment -200VP
Purchase X tech 100 VP (unrestricts CCX in shiplist for limited deployment)

Problem:  not even for all side.  Things can snowball too much with a system like this.

Spelling?


I kid, I kid.  Actually, there have been a lot of very successful dynas (i.e. GW series).  Some simply had one or two tweaks that were needed (and often were done during the campaign).  Why not have another dyna using the same rules as one that was successful?

This won't promote PvP.

Problem is, if a ship is bought with a team's actual VC, that ship is more important than any BP or life, as it actually costs a team their ability to win the server to field it.

Therefore, the orders will be to keep that ship alive at all costs, not to risk it in PvP actions.

Then there's the snowball effect when the winning team spends most of their lead on ships to overwhelm the server with bigger ships...

Because I'm one of the people who can't stop tinkering with something that already works.

As I'm already trying out a "new" VP combat based system for MM, and I'm trying to find a workable map VP based on
well, bases., I thought it would be cool to add a third as of yet completely untested and not really thought out idea.
well actually a fourth if you count secret super passwrod encoded VC's
(But Pesty will be ahndling that so I don't see anything going wrong on that point)

And now that I've noticed Julins post- not exactly.
Once the ship is bought, the VP's are gone. Lose it and it's only worth the amount the pilot is worth.
I think there would be an issue with the winning side outspending the losing side on ships though, I'll keep tinkering with the idea , see if I can make it work.
