Title: StarFleet Command 3 TMP ships
Post by: Cpt.Bazkat on March 02, 2005, 05:18:06 pm
Hey i was wondering if it is possible to create and add your own damage to a downloaded ships in sfc 3 without the use off a 3d modling program like studio max, because i love the tmp ships and have started to download and replace the tng ships with tmp ships, but none of the decent ones which i have found actualy have damage textures which is annoying, but i still say thanks to all the guys who have put time into the models.

if it is possible and if theres a program u need could some one please give me details thanks, plus could some one post me some links to good sites for tmp ships with damage maps. thanks in advance dan.

Adding damage textures is easy, simply copy the models standard textures, and add a "d" at the end of the name before the extension. Then open them with paint or other *.bmp editing program and draw on your damage. I normally use Irfanview's embose and oil paint tools. The only other thing I have found is that you have to make sure you delete the original *.x file in the ship's folder or else your new damage textures will not show in the game.

ooo, and it doesn't like dashes in the names for the damage textures...
