I'm back!!

Grrr.
Well I'm back. Sunburnt. Broke. And sore from trying to actually hike Bright Angel Trail at the Grand Canyon.
Boy that was a stupid idea!! And golly was Shop Rex pissed when she found out there wasn't a mall at the bottom.
Anywho . . . .
I see a lot of multiple page threads. I assume they are filled with people having fun and being mature adults about a fun game that they just love to play right???? Well that or Hexx bashing. Either is cool.
I don't have time to read all that stuff. ()*#&)*(&#)(&#)(&# Judge stuck me with a *&^#&*^&*#^*(#& jury trial tomorrow so I have to pull a *)^#&*^*(#&^&(# all nighter here. I HATE WHEN WORK INTERFERS WITH MY FUN!!!!
So could someone just give me the Reader's Digest version of all that has transpired?

Short Version - Romulans kicked ass.
Longer version - Without your valiant leadership and in spite of the best efforts of Hex the Federation was conquered and the Gorn lost all their frontier bases. Total blow out in favour of the green hordes.

Coalition had an extreme numbers through-out GW5.Federation wiped outto the last hex.Alliance thinks Coalition went to far.Coalition thinks they played within the rules.Each side disagrees with the other....ya know,same old stuff. ::)Some of flaming got pretty nasty yada yada yada.Got to the point the server got suspended for a couple of hours.Grab a beer and some snacks ,makes for a good read if ya got an hour or so.Oh...and welcome back,hope ya had a blast 8)

Ah . . . the old "Ya ran up the score" issue that I see in some little league games.
I supposes there is something to both sides of the issue.
I sure wish there was a server side way of preventing imbalances. But I don't know of one.

It's never worked right. People say they will fly a certain race and then don't show up.
What would be perfect is if the server package allowed you to set a maximum Delta in player numbers per team.
For example . . . you could set it at five. Thus if there were 5 more Coalition logged on than Alliance the server would not let any more Coalition players log on until the deiffernce changed.

Odd that.
I still remember the AoTK I fiasco when the sign up showed a completely balanced game. However, the Kitties got kilt when a good 50% of those that said they would fly Kitty disappeared off the face of the earth for the duration of the server.
At first we blamed Fluf. Well, it's S.O.P. and he hadn't bathed much that month. But as I look back . . . I dunno.

That's why I have suggested it a few times having played on several servers in d-3 over the last few years. :smackhead:

And by the same token...we had a lot of pilots that didn't actually sign up, but then showed up.
