I'm thinking of entering it in the monthly contest over at the soundsonline forums, so if anyone here is a member (I seem to remember there were few people that had an interest in composing music here, although it's been a long time since the topic came up and I don't know if they are even still around.) and you don't have an entry yourself, make sure to give my song a nod when the voting starts, if you like it of course. ;)
Anyhow, I'm still getting used to the software and stuff, and this is only my third composition "finished" so I'm still in the learning process, but it's been fun. Anyhow, I thought I'd just drop it in here and get some feedback and let you all have a listen. I've still got more I want to do to it, but that's for another time I guess. I've got a composition for a short film I've been working on for the longest time to complete. Hope you enjoy it, and if you have anything to say just say it. Honesty is the best policy. :D

I'm not music theorist, but if I were an Independent Filmmaker looking for someone to score my film you would certainly be on my short list.

I thought I might comment on your web page. I found it kind of difficult to read so in my rampant hubris I thought I'd whip you up a page to better display your files and links.
Just copy and past this into a notepad file. Save it with either an html or htm file extension and upload it to your site and you're ready to roll. If you need help expanding the table as you add more files don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks. I just threw the other one together really quick with word (I haven't written anything in html in forever so word had to do), didn't really have time to deal with it. The new version is much appreciated.
Anyway, the short film I'm doing the music for now, well... I kind of had the inside track as I wrote it, helped produce it, and I did the storyboards, art, etc. There were a bunch of folks on the crew who wanted to take a stab at it but it was something I had wanted to do so, it was mine. They were mostly rock band type folks too, so their stuff probably wouldn't have fit anyway. It would certainly be cool if I could get more gigs, but I'm thinking I'll have to get a better computer before I dive in too far. The sample packages out there are fairly demanding, anymore. My poor old computer can barely keep up when dealing with multiple articulations. Hopefully that whole thing will be done soon and we can send it out to the festivals. We've got the audio guy working on it now, and then it's just adding in the credits and the music, so it's closer every day. If it's ever up on the internet, I'll post a link so you all can see it. It's not the best I've ever seen, but it's certainly not the worst either. Not bad for a first attempt I would say, but then I'm not the one who has to judge these things.

Sounds good, EE. I would like to know more about the short, too. Bet it could be interesting, with that soundtrack.

Thanks, but this isn't the soundtrack from the film. I'll post that sometime when I get a chance, if you'd like. I could post the music from the film or just the song that inspired most of cues, if you like (but the film is about 10 minutes so it's plenty of music to download). I've got a newer version of this one with more variance in the tempo coming up, which I think helps it along. I've always thought it lagged a bit. Anyway, thanks for the comments, and I'll let you all know when the film is done and try and get it where you can see it.
