Title: sfc2 eaw crash
Post by: pacman_jn on June 25, 2005, 04:25:18 am
I installed sfc2 eaw and played it without problems for about a week. now when I start the game and select campaign the game turns off and returns to the desktop. I get an error message that says" runtime error" then it gives the path to "starfleet2.exe" then says "abnormal program termination". What can I do? :(

I've got no idea. My usual fix for something like that is to uninstall/reinstall & perhaps redownload the patch. Usually does it. Another thing is to make sure you don't have a lot of stuff running in the background. Hope that helped.  ;)

I had that exact same problem with MOO2.  I went into search, typed in the file name, then deleted it.   After that, the game started normally.  I found that what caused it was if I shut the game down improperly while playing, it would keep that file, and that was what stopped it from allowing me to re-open the game.  Plus, no need to uninstall, re-install.

I had a similar problem. If you exit from the game from the middle of a battle (i.e. by using the escape key) it screws up your autosave files, which in turn causes the game to crash when you try to click on Campaign. I deleted all the files in the save folder (under MetaAssets/db/saves/autosaves) If you have any other games going, I don't know , but you may need to delete those as well (try it first without0

Hope this helps
