Title: Romulan Aen'rhien-class Warbird
Post by: Captain Pierce on July 10, 2005, 03:11:35 pm: This is the SFC version of the ship seen in the Hlai-class WIP thread, with the model essentially done:

This is based on the idea of the SFB "King Condor," and was originally designed for StressPuppy's TOS Homeworld mod as the Romulans' "Phase 2" mothership. Aen'rhien translates as "bloodwing," which according to the Diane Duane "Rihanssu" novels is a large bird much like a condor.

Seriously, CJ is making the last necessary texture tweaks on the Hlai refit, then he'll be turning his attention to texturing this baby...

Anyway, as an update, CJ just last week finished the textures on the Hlai refit (which I really need to get off my lazy butt and hardpoint); he's been caught up in house repair this week, but hopefully next week he can started texturing this bird...

Ive always had something in mind, but the problem was..., and still is time to pull it off. Models need some more polys to be SFC worthy tho.

Post by: Captain Pierce on August 31, 2005, 06:34:25 am: Early versions of Stress' C-8 and F-5 can be seen here: http://atrahasis.proboards25.com/index.cgi?board=models&action=display&thread=1125367074, but please keep in mind that their polycounts and textures were designed with the limitations of Homeworld in mind, and thus are not necessarily representative of what an SFC version would look like. ;) For example, look at the difference between the Homeworld and SFC versions of the Hlai... :)

The bottom shot is the most in-progress, as there's not yet a clear way to blend everything together. But we're working on it. :)

CommanderJones has officially given up on Maya, and is in the process of switching to LightWave; he's working on the modelling side of things at the moment, and I imagine when he gets to learning texturing, this will be one of the testbeds, but I can't say when he'll get to it. Sorry, all.
