Since one way to score points on the enemy is for them to disengage, I was thinking that disengagement has to be a willful decision, and not forced on them.
That being the case: should we say no tractor pushing off the map? It's a regular (if unrealistic ) tactic employed freely in League games (old ladder leagues as well the PBR), but given the premise of the mini-camp, I think it seems out of place.
Thoughts?
Of course, tractoring to PREVENT disengagement would be perfectly legit.

Damn, there goes my only tactic ...
A lot of players live by the map edge intentionally. At times, myself included. If a player wishes to avoid being pushed off...then avoid the edge. I prefer to not see the rule used, but will be happy to play with or without it. Your call.

I have concern about the use of pushing off map - my solution to combat it may be off base though.
I have raised at least two concerns thus far where 762 offered a solution that was totally outside of where I was thinking - yet at the same time was the better solution.
I am open to anything (even being told that this is really a non-issue)

Allow the tactic, but a ship pushed off the map is worth no points.
-
yeah - thought about that too.
That works for me - no points for forcing the disengagement.
But what if you caused internals or crippled the ship before hand? still grant the points for that?
-
No.

Right - nice trade off.

Good point. That would make it the decision of the one doing the pushing.
