Post by: toasty0 on July 17, 2005, 03:25:39 pm
Forty-five musicians, under the direction of Philharmonic Associate Conductor Richard McGee, will be one of the main attractions at the world’s largest Star Trek Convention here in August.

They will perform works from the sci-fi saga’s television shows and movies in the world premiere of “Star Trek: The Concert” at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, August 13, as part of the four-day celebration at the Las Vegas Hilton.

More than 10,000 Trekkies are expected to gather, with a VIP list that includes 70 performers from the Star Trek Universe, including William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew, Avery Brooks and Brent Spiner

Reserved seating is $65, and general admission is $35. Children 7-12 are $25 (available at the door only), with free admission for those 6 and under.

Upscale casual attire is requested. Of course, Star Trek costumes are acceptable.

For more information or to order tickets to the concert, visit the convention’s website.

Are they going to record it for an album release?
