Title: Back for More
Post by: WileyCoyote on August 01, 2005, 05:47:03 pm
Hello All,

I must say that I was overjoyed to find that there was still an active SFC community.  I played SFC2:EAW avidly from the time it came out until about 2 years ago when RL through me a loop (read tech layoffs).  I went by the same name back then and usually flew ISC just because not many others did.  I also enjoy Lyran, Hydran, and Gorn.  Someone posted a thread about old campaigns and the ones that I can tick off would be CW1,2,3 and a couple of the fun servers.  I still cant get over the fact that there are still game servers up a running.  I'm also kicking myself for ever quiting.  I started playing again the other night and got hooked again as soon as I saw the intro screen!

Introductions aside, I was just curious about what kind of servers you have going on.  It looks like the AOTK2 is an OP server.  Are there any EAW servers or am I going to have to hunt up a copy of OP?  Also, Ive installed the 2236 patch, the EZini thingy, and some mission sets that I found on Koromag but I was curious as to whether there was one website were I could get some of the "server specific" files you guys speak of?

Thanks for your time and happy gaming!

You'll find most of the current campaigns are for OP.
You can get em cheap on Ebay... ;)

Most of your answers should be in this forum and its accompanying threads

Current OP patch is 2552.  Also most servers are using FireSoul's OP+4.0 shiplists (and models if you want them).

Once of the biggest changes is actually a small one.  The directory servers have changed (info is in the link above) and there are some .dll s that can be used to improve stability.
