Shane Johnson (yes, that Shane) is approaching Pocket Books for a revised version of the MSGTTE, updated for the 21st century. He already has given intriguiging snippets of info for what new material and changes this is going to have, like the 1-deck reduction for the 1701-A from the 1701, and these positively bitching diagram snipppets he kindly gave to us over at the TrekBBS.

EDIT: Shane says that the book can sell itself, and that any letters might disrupt the thought-process of Pocket Books. Therefore I have removed the mailing address.

Thanks for the heads up !

This one will have two full deckplans, for both the 1701 and the 1701-A. And they are very different, because Shane has seriously taken the TNG sets into account as of STV and ST:VI (though he isn't including the TOS hull markings from TUC, as that would screw things up even worse.)

For the Enterprise A they added the little rectangular and circular shapes that were on the original TOS model's underside to the movie model, most people's versions of the ship will have this present, they are behind the 4 underside phaser turrets, an orange circle with red outline, a compound shape of 2 rectangles touching perpendicular to each other in light blue with a slightly darker blue outline around that, then a light grey rectangle with blue outline and finally a grey square with red outline, they appear to serve no function whatsoever and were probably just added as nostalgia on the part of the model guy who had to repaint the ship.

Thanks... Do you have any reference pictures of the markings?

Not off hand but StarshipModeler.com has the best photos of the Ent-A you'll find anywhere, or just take a look at the underside of WickedZombie's Connie refit model, it has them accurately portrayed I think.
