Images captured with Worldwind (http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/) on USGS 1m Ortho:

P.S. Anybody have any idea what's going on at 38.68°N, 76.84°N? (check it out on the USGS Urban Area) Looks like an ~5Km radius particle accelerator with parking for 5000 just to the north and buses in... :o :skeptic:
-
Maybe you could give a laymen's idea of those coordinates?

38.68°N, 76.84°N - Air Force Road in Maryland, Just south of Brandywine. (unrelated to the pics above of Dynaverse.net's home at Bear Technologies in Plano Texas)

Ya, I wanted to try GoogleEarth, but their posted installer seems to be corrupted. I have tried to download it with IE, Firefox and Stardownloader, each time the download completed at 8.5 MB when the expected filesize is 11.15 MB. The 8.5 MB installer will not run. So I'll stick with Worldwind until google posts a complete installer or new version.

W/ Google earth I found my sisters house in Houston. I will try to look for Frey's house. ;D
I do agree this program rocks. :)

I managed to get GoogleEarth by copying the installer off another computer. It seems they have a timeout on the download. Perhaps to filter out dial-up users?

use "getright" it is a resumable download manager. if it is interupted it will not dump the temp file. it will reconnect and start where it left off. it can open up to four connections to speed up downloads. There is a free version and a pro version.

I use Stardownloader as a resumable multi stream file downloader, it is the only one I know for sure is spyware free. I used it as well to try downloading the GoogleEarth setup. The Google earth download still reports itself as complete at 8.5 MB instead of 11.15MB, like I said, I imagine the download is time limited serverside. Instead, I copied the setup from a laptop that was used to download the setup in town on a faster connection where the full 11.15 MB came down much faster.

Indeed?
Too bad I never heard of it in my 56k days. I tried GoZilla, which was very true to it's iconic symbol- a malevolently staring red monster eye. It was not filled with spyware; it WAS spyware.
Then I tried another one, which worked well, but did carry some spyware... and then when the trial period expired, I deleted it all.
You would think that the OS should seamlessly handle something like an interrupted download.
