Looking at these little walking ashcans on tripods. They smell funny, but they do look cute.
(I've been working on my SFB miniatures for a bit, and thought I'd share the images of proper Hydran warships. Here's a Ranger, a Lancer, and a Dragoon Horseman.)

Are you actually making these game pieces?
-
They don't hold Origins till July. Still plenty of time to work out the smell problem on your Hydran minis!
PS: They look great! ;)

ADB makes and sells them, I just assemble and paint them. There are a ton of miniatures available for all races.
And hey! Good to see you again!

P.S. Thanks Father Ted!

You know, Hydran ships look kinda like cigars, with that brand label band around them, and they do tend to get "smoked" in PvP every now and again ;D
-
They are brown. No wonder they stink!
P.S. That's not a Ranger, it's a Horseman.
-
A Horseman of the Ap00palypse?
;D
-
Good job, Scippy.
Thanks.

P.S. They do look cool. You painting any other gaming models right now? I've been thinking about starting on my Warhammer Orc/Goblin army again.
-
I prefer it when Dizzy paints models in those lovely shades of green....... ;D

Took me a second, but I see what you are talking about. The Ranger is a Ranger, but what I labeled a Dragoon is a Horseman. My bad. I have an extra Horseman laying around; I'll have to see about shaving off the fusion cannons and converting it into a Dragoon.
One thing I always thought was funny when looking at these miniatures: Usually, heavier ships have more weapons than lighter ships. But look! The Lancer destroyer has tree fusion cannon, while the Horseman light cruiser has only two.
They Hydrans are almost admitting that the Fusion cannon is a liability rather than an asset. ;)
By the way, I'm not sure what you mean when you say the are brown. On my monitor, and in person, they look deep blue to me. There are painted with Model Master's Dark Sea Blue as the base coat.

Really? They look p00p brown to me. Very Hydran actually.
Anyway, you scaly cold-blooded heathen, a Horseman cannot be converted to a Dragoon! You can convert it to a Traveler, which is another under-armed POS light.

Well, if you tripod ashcans had real ship designations like most other races do (like "light cruiser", "new light cruiser", "destroyer".....) I wouldn't be having this problem! (Harumph!) Bloody tentacled creative freaks. I bet you're all a bunch of artists and poets. ;)

What about 6 slice cruiser, 8 slice cruiser, 12 slice cruiser, 24 slice cruiser......that is the standard labelling for cheese I see in the grocery. ;D
-
Only if you rename your ships "4 armed drone monkey, 6 armed drone monkey," etc. :P

I plan to play this week. I meant to last night, but fell asleep almost as soon as I was in the computer chair. (Sometimes children are a blessing, sometimes they are a trial sent by God.)
P.S. They do look cool. You painting any other gaming models right now? I've been thinking about starting on my Warhammer Orc/Goblin army again.
Next up for me is a fleet of Tholains, I think. I need to work on some Romulans, since my Romulan collection got smashed when I moved, but I'd put a lot of work into those bird of prey insignias and am a little put off by having to repeat that. (Very solid one-piece Condor with large bird of prey? Smashed!!! Extrememly delicate Kzinti CS with spidery booms but simple paint job? Safe!!!!! The gods must be crazy......)
I'm always working on some project or another for Game's Workshop's EPIC line.
As for your Orc army....you should do it! I tried a couple of games of WH40K with Paul (GDT-Ujin), and I bought an Imperial army and started painting it when I thought Paul and I were going to start playing, but I never finished because it soon became apparent we were never going to play again.
Next time you visit, bring the pieces with you and we can try a game. If you give me enough notice I might even get some of my Empire figures finished before you arrive.
