Title: Last Patrol X-29 fighter WIP (image heavy)

well ....  here it is ...  my first mesh .. from scratch.  A few tweaks here and there ...  and a MAP from AV to do the textures and this one will be done.  Yes ..   we will release one that is more in step with "Federation" concepts ( an easy conversion ) immediately behind this one.

Is this something of your own design or a sci-fi fic I've never heard off?

It's from a Novel.  I designed the ship ...  infact an entire fleet.  It's from some of my earlier work so it reflects a tad of inexperience ( at least the larger ships.)   The original hand sketches I still have here at home ( I may post them).  The paper is old and yellowed.

From that novel the best designs were:

1.  X-29 Custom Fighter
2.  Rescue Ship
3.  Fast Patrol Ship
4.  Light cruiser
5.  Carrier

The BB wasn't that good, really .... as well as the heavy cruiser.

Reminds me (loosely) of Star Wars's Rebel Snow Speeder (http://www.profilesinhistory.com/images/2408-0009final_000.jpg) (and I mean loosely considering the many differences, but still there's some similar traits).  Not bad though.

Is the novel like a "last starfighter" type thing?  And I agree it does show a bit of SW style.

yes it does smack of the SW type or influence ...  but it is my own design.  The Novel is more like a block buster type.  It's theme centers around a contraversal proposal of unilateral disarmament, a carefully planed attack against a major military installation in an attempt to start an intergalactic war.
