Title: Ol Buzzard requesting help
Post by: OlBuzzard on October 30, 2005, 10:22:37 pm
I've finally began to start doing some modeling ...  well sort of.  The program I've been using is a very simple one ..  but effective for beginners.

this is the site:

http://www.wings3d.com/

Up until now we have :

1.  Revamped the Titan (but it needs to be optimized, and a BMP file done so I can retext)
2.  built the X-29 model .. ( but now needs to be put in MOD format and a map done for texturing)
3.  finished the USS Alabama ( but needs placed in MOD form, and mapped for texturing )
4.  completed the USS Iowa (also needs MOD format ..  and a map so I can texture )

I now have several models that the mesh is done ..  but need converted to a useable format, and a MAP I can use for texturing.  As soon as we can get each of these textured ( something I can now do and make a contribution to the community)  they will be released and permisson given to be used in any of the SFC games.

I did have someone who was helping with this ...  but it seems as though they may have left.

If someone would not mind helping do some team work ...  I can do the mesh ..  and even texturing we can get a few more good models done in the comming weeks.   Unfortunately the program I have does not export to MOD, nor can I do the maps needed for texturing.

what format is it in now?

.3ds

I'm at work right now ..  if nothing else this evening when we get home I'll do a screenie , or we can get on MSN ...  which ever works best.

essentially what it comes down to .....  I've learned enough to make the mesh.  (Or at least most of it) ... but if there are overlapping parts or parts that can be "optimized" ..  I lack experience, and training to be able to make the final steps.  The biggest thing is that even with a completed model  ( like the Alabama, Iowa and the X-29 ) I can't get any one to do a map for me so we can texture due to the format.  In short ..    I'm at a total stand still for now !

sounds good ...

take care of home and family first !  That is always a priority!

The rest can wait.

BTW...  thanks for the reply.

We do have an interesting team effort going on.  And, as you can see, a couple of BB's ready to finish.

If things work out ....  I'd like to tackle something that I suggested waaaaaaay back a long time ago when we first started posting here ... and that  is a better Klingon DN and BB.

First things first ...  take care bud.

Keep in touch.

all projects pending are on hold until further notice.

AV what ever life has dealt you ..  I sincerely hope you are able to sort things out.  If ya get the chance to send me the last copies of those files we were working on   (especially the Alabama and the Titan) that would be cool.

Take care my friend ...

By this weekend or the beginning of next week I'll be in business again and get to work on the models I have on my drive, the Yamato being second on the list.  The SFC3 version, once I get started, should hopefully be done within a couple days, again, when I get started on it.
