Here is another of Atolm’s designed Romulan warbirds for the fleet. For completeness, I have included a link to his site for the original sketches.

Oh by the way, this is my second attempt at texturing. What do you folks think?

Can we give this warbird a fitting name?
How about the "Sfaret" class..in honor of Ed crisler....an old timer , a communtiy supporter ,and long time rommie who has returned and now flies with the KBF...
If you want some back round...Ed posted Here:

Azel/Atolm may already have a name for this one - have you asked him?
-
OK, Azell's dubbed her: "Aen'laehval" or Shadow-Wing
-
Thanks MajorRacal for check on this for me. "Aen'laehval" or Shadow-Wing is a good name.
-
Ok..no problem..I was under the impression she didnt have a name at the time of this posting...If azel allready had one...thats cool too....
-
KBF-Crim,
sorry about that. I should have checked with Atolm before i posted. My bad.
The ship should be available for download (assuming I did everything right).

No problem at all Pepperman.... :)
Maybe someone will do another cool rommie and dedicate it...
It was only a suggestion after all...not a demand. ;)
That IS a badass ship bro... ;D
-
There's a problem with the model.
Huge chunks are missing from the top and bottom of the wings. And the bottom of the central 'crew' area is missing.
-
Okay, maybe someone can help me troubleshoot. I am using Milkshape 3D 1.7.2 and the Star Fleet Command exporter. The model looks fine in Milkshape (i.e, that is where the images came from). Thoughts on how to resolve this issue. The model has 4 components with each of these sharing the same material (see image)
Also, is there a utility that allows you to view mod files after they have been exported from the modelling package?
-
Yeah..there is a Taldren mod viewer posted here somewhere....I have to run out the door at the moment for a emergency electrical service cal...if someone hasnt linked it yet...I'll find it when I get back... ;)l
-
Okay, found the mod viewer and you guys are right somethings wrong. Now to figure out what and how to fix it cause right now it seems to look okay in the Milkshape program.
-
I was just going to post about this, max is showing half of it invisable as well. I believe it might have something to do with inverted polygons or something (usualy) but it almost looks (in wireframe) as if it's actualy just plain gone...some sort of export error perhaps? I notice your model is several squares long, in bridge commander terms nearly 200m, while most sfc models load as shuttle sized in BC units. maybe try making it smaller in scale when you export.
-
The problem with this seems to be that some of the normals are inverted. By selecting all faces and unifying normals I was able to correct about 90% of the problem. The only area still affected is the bottom side of the command section. It looks like those normals will have to be flipped manually and I just didn't have time to finish it last night. If someone else gets what I'm talking about and can fix it quick, please do. If not, I'll try to finish it up tonight. Also, if someone can suggest a UI to use I'll see if I can't get this HP/DP'ed while I'm at it.
Scott
-
Okay, somehow something went amiss and as DookeyKing pointed out some of the normals got inverted. While I don't know exactly how I did this, I think I have fixed a of the inverted faces. Could someone download it again and check it out? Same location as above.
-
I'm d/ling the new file now. I'll check it out in game as soon as I can. I was planning to work on this again this evening, but my old PC(the one with my MAX install) crapped out on me again. Since I can't find my MAX install disk, I can't get MAX on my new PC.
Scott
-
Yeah, you fixed the problem pepperman. Now, I just hope this gets lightmapped and HPed soon.
Scott
-
as do I. Glad it's fixed. It's one of the designs of his I liked the best.
-
Someone else with have to do the lightmaps and hard pointing.
-
Thanks Dr. Pepperman!!! ;D
This ship is awesome, are your other awesopme Atolm Works of Art ready foir release? I think you have a REAL talent for transforming his conceptual (especailly his rommies) into a real picees of computer artwork useable in games.
THANKS!
