From the author of The 13th Echelon and co-author of Star Trek: Omens comes a new story: a story of the end for one of this forum's longest established characters.
Star Trek: Requiem (still a working title only at this point, subject to change - K-Fo)
Fleet Admiral Kieran Forester never dreamed of being a historical figure. However, history has a way of having the greatest impact on those who want it least. From the General War to the near-cataclysmic conflict with the Gatrellians, from the first War of Pacification to the second invasion of the mysterious, malevolent, extragalactic Andromedans, Admiral Forester has been a living part of Starfleet history for over a century.
Nevertheless, all things must come to an end. Relegated to meaningless, trivial tasks at Starfleet Command and afflicted with a rare and terminal illness, Kieran's time is coming to its close. Now, he wants only to find what peace he can in life before he finds his eternal rest. However, something from the depths of space still calls to him, something with a siren song sweeter than anything anyone has ever known. Join Kieran on his final adventure as he answers the call of the void.

Had a bit of a wrench thrown in my writing plans, unfortunately.
I was hoping to get a good chunk of story typed and ready over break, and so I brought my computer home with me. Unfortunately, my monitor is being a cranky POS and refusing to work at home, so I don't know what I'll be able to do. Absolute best case scenario is I start over on the computer at home and still get some done, after which I email it to myself and open it up on my computer at school after break, at which time hopefully my computer will be working and I can continue. Slightly less best case scenario is I put it off until after break, at which time I take my computer back to my dorm room, the monitor works, and work continues. I was planning to rewrite what I have anyway, since it got kinda mixed reviews from La'ra and Tasky when I had them look it over, so I might work on it back home. Right now, everything hinges on me being able to get my comp back to the dorm and it working fine when I get there. Worst case scenario is I've killed my monitor and need a new one, which means I'll have a lot more to worry about than not being able to work on a story. ;D

Hope your monitor is still working, K-Fo. Are you at boarding school or something? *grin*

No, I'm just on winter break from college. Or university, as you Brits like to put it. ;D For some reason my monitor got cranky. I don't know, maybe it didn't like riding home in a box in the front seat of my car.
