You know, it's funny you should say that, 'cuz whenever the Feds were actually at war with the Klingons (really only two instances, one of which in an alternate timeline), the UFP was always getting its a$$ handed to it, while the Klingons would have parties while talking about how many Fed bridge officers they had recently cut down in hand-to-hand fighting...a few lost skirmishes with Kirk, etc. count for nothing in the big picture...
