Hello, I am writing this post as a last resort chance at help. I have spent 2 days on this problem and am about to throw in the towel.
I am trying to get back to playing this game again, after a bit of an abscense. Yet when I try to join a game in SFC 2 or Orion Pirates, I just sit there at the join game screen and I dont see any games, ever.
I can play every single other game I wish to play online fine. Civ 4, World of Warcraft, Battlefield 2 etc etc never any problems.
I am not behind a router, I connect direct into my network card from a wireless point to point device which hits my isp (i live in the mountains this is the kind highspeed we get) I think my problem somehow lies in the fact that I do not have a static ip from my ISP, its all automaticly assigned by my isps router I am hitting.
I have Win XP with SP2. I have zone alarm but i turn it off to try and play SFC, I also turn OFF windows firewall, antivirus etc. Still no dice, I see no game.
I can provide any more information needed if someone can please, please help me get this problem resolved. I have searched all of these help threads on this forum and done many of the things suggested that could apply to me, to no avail.
I also have disabled Universal Plug And Play service. still no multiplayer games.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I have done all of those things and still unable to play via gamespy. I have not tried to play via the dyna but if I cannot play via IP/gamespy then I for sure cannot play via the dyna.

I reccomend the most basic of tests: get a friend to ping your IP address, if he gets no reply (and is not running firewalls himself) then something is still blocking access to your machine.

Here is your problem, you are behind a router that is not under your control. Try having a friend ping your IP address (dynamic should not matter). If you cannot be pinged then you cannot play SFC online.
Actually, I just pinged your IP address and I got through fine... (if it is still your IP address this morning).
PM me your IP address (ipconfig at the command prompt) and I'll compare it to what I see as your public IP address from this server, if they do not match then we have a problem Houston...
Have you tried connecting to the Dynaverse? Perhaps it is an issue between you and whoever you are trying to connect to. Try connecting to the Dynaverse and let us know if you get the firewall error...

Is it a Linksys WAP?
