Title: How come I now have to keep re-entering my key?

I used to play OP on line when it first came out several years ago.  Thinking about getting back into multiplayer.  I play single player off and on.  I installed patches/updates recommended in the thread about playing online.  Now, every time I start the game, I have to re-enter my CD key.  It works, but it's a pain to keep having to do this.  Any way to get the game to remember my CD key, like it used to before installing all the new stuff?

If you followed instructions in any thread but this one:

Then I reccomend a clean install (uninstall and delete all existing OP folders) and follow the instructions there. (Read the entire post first.)

This should not happen, I have never heard of this happening before.

Thanks for the quick response. I was hoping you wouldn't say that, but at least there's a fix.  No, I didn't install things in the order that the thread specified because I had installed the OP enhancemen package for single player only some time ago with no intention of playing on line.
