I found this neat little quiz that tries to determine your political stance with ten questions. Follow this link, take the quiz, and post the results. http://www.self-gov.org/quiz.html
It rated me as Conservative (as I expected) with an 80% economic score and a 20% personal score.
-
Here's a similar quiz, but it's much longer and more precise. http://www.politicalcompass.org/
This one gave me an economic rating of 3.5 (on a -10 to 10 scale) and a social rating of 3.23 (on a -10 to 10 scale), which is a more moderate rating than what the short quiz gave me, but I think it's more accurate.
-
Heh, it pegged me as a Libertarian.
I strongly object to it classifying Liberals as left however, that is totally incorrect. Liberals are very right wing.

Liberals are left-wing on social policies, and it's the generic, defalt American terminology.

It all depends on WHO you want to do what... if you want the Government to step in and do things, you are not a libertarian, but more of a USA type Liberal...

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention and sometimes support individual freedom of choice. Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind, tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what they describe as "practical" solutions to problems
The RED DOT on the Chart shows where you fit on the political map.

Hmmmm....... I thought the drug quesiton would prevent me from being libertarian. Guess not.
LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence. Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties

The longer quiz seems to have a much different idea about where I fall than does the shorter test. It puts me on the authoritarian side, rather than the libertarian. Both put me on the right.
I notice I'm not extreme on either vertical or horizontal scale, so maybe these tests have a little wiggle room in the middle.

Economic Left/Right: 4.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.36
Edit: Picture doesn't show, but 0.0 is dead center. Right is positive X, Authoritarian is positive Y.

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 80%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 80%.
You also have to figure that the quizes sponsors might have a vested interest in achieving more Libertarian results, thus the questions posed will steer more folkes towards that result.

Libertarian =P
-
Libertarian.......but since I learned my lesson in 92 I vote with conservatives
A libertarian, yet a realist
-
the first quiz says I'm Liberal (personal 80%/ Econimic 40%).
I disagree with the results, but I'll take the second and see if there's a difference.
EDIT: I guess I don't know myself that well, as the second confirmed the first test: Libertarian left (-5.5 left/ -2.31 libertarian). At least I'm in good company as Nelson Mandella and I share the same spot (almost exactly).
And I thought all these years I was a conservative, maybe I havent changed, but the lines moved.
