I was supposed to have the day off, but I had to go in today to finish up some stuff. I do like the double over time tho.

No problem. I've got a few of the Ross Volunteers (my honor guard pals) in my outfit. I'm in A-Company, one of the four outfits that make up the band.

We closed the office today, but I worked from home. Too bad I'm salaried and don't get paid any extra.

Class of '86, IIRC.

Man I miss being salaried!
Being paid only for when you work is fair, but it sure makes budgeting interesting.

A little bit of history for ya. ;)
Calling the holiday "President's Day" is one of my pet peeves. (I don't have many pet peeves, honest I don't. It just seems like I do because I yell about them so loudly.) The name of the holiday is Washington's Brithday, and it irritates me that so many want to dilute it by making it some sort of generic day.
Washington deserves his holiday. He earned it.

I'd like to note that where I live, workers here don't have President's Day off, but they get MLK day off. I'm assuming it's the opposite for most of you guys? Or did you get both off?

If you will recall, we used to honor Washington as well as Lincoln on their birthdays which meant 2 back to back Mondays off. This way we honor both as well as all the rest on the Monday closest to Washinton's Birthday.

I had monday off too.

We private sector types keep the ball rolling......... ;)

I'm still hoping a major studio does a period film on Gen. Washington. It would also be a film on the birth of the republic.
