A shot in the dark. . .
Does anyone by chance know of any tricks for doing breakmodels without Max? I need it done for SFCIII models, otherwise, I would just tear up my original model in milkshape and let it drift off into space in unity.

Not that I know of, but you can make your break model in another program and then send it to someone who has max to export it for you. I wouldn't mind helping you out with this if you need it.

Hey, I really appriciate the response and the offer, but I am looking to do 61 different models, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, of course, if you enjoy pain and long hours of pulling apart someone else's models, than I am sure we can work something out.

Last summer, I helped out greenvalv with his Stock Ship Replacement mod for SFC3. He sent me models that needed fixing up (every single one of them needed work done on the break model) and I would fix them up and send them back to him for approval. I got pretty good at working with break models, but I also grew to dislike working with them at the same time. I can stomach them in small doses, but it's long and tedious work (especially if you want jagged faces on the insides of the chunks), and the better you try to make it look the longer and more tedious it gets. I've been meaning to write a tutorial on making break models, but I haven't quite gotten around to it yet.
Ideally, I would prefer that the break model already be done by the time I get it. That way all I have to do is convert it. But I am willing to help you out with making them whenever I have some extra time on my hands.

What if I even went as far as to break them up into parts, and had them as separate files, would you be able to merge them into one break file? What file format is best for you?
-
That would be good. I would prefer .3ds since it's fairly universal now.

I envy you guys.

How so? Is there something you could use a hand with?

Thanks IM
I was referring to the works you guys do. One of these days I'll have to get around to learning how to build quality models for game play. Step one would be buying the necessary software. :D
The game owes alot to you modelers.
