Title: USS Titan NCC-80102-Star Trek Titan's Main Ship
Post by: CaptainTombs on March 21, 2006, 04:20:01 pm
Here is a teaser so far of the USS Titan from the Star Trek Titan series, im working on the textures, model is done by the faboulus Kreeargh :) who i have to say has done an outstanding job on her

texture wise im waiting till the official model schematics come out when the fourth book is released

im also waiting till i do other regs as i want to do uss luna and uss ganymede(Spelt wrong) as so far there the only ones mentioned the luna for her accident and the other was mentioned as doing the same job as titan but on the other side :)

Also big thanks to MasterJedi for helping out with her

Seeing as the textures look as if they had come from the schematic itself, it's not bad at all, especially when applied to the model which is alright.  If you (and Kreeargh and MJ) ask me for any reccomendations, I'd say keep this copy of the Titan and maybe make it for SFC1? *shrug* But do whatever you'd like for her; she's out of my hands.

Yeah it does look like an SFC1 model or Armada as well.

I disagree with the textures.  It may look 'ST: Encyclopedia-ish' but the textures are still pretty nice, and the model reminds me of Maggot's best SFC1 models, such as his Son'a ships for example.

cool, well also the reason for the lack of release is i want to release it with another ship in mind, the picture below sort of gives it away and if you've followed the titan designer winner's other designs youll know what i mean  :)

aren't the engines a bit oversized? Also I'm not sure if anyone of them would want it, but there are a few poeple at BCU making SNS galaxy style highres textures, if you are interested in having it repainted right away.

Can you point us to where it's being made (as in a specific thread that might have an assortment of WIP pics or somethiong)?  or are pictures of it not posted yet/no thread of it was made?

I've only been msn'd a few pix of the project in question and probably chucked the lot when I cleaned out my recieved files yesterday. I don't think he made a wip thread either. If I get some more pix I'll post one. But if u simply think about sns galaxy stiled textures on a p81 gal that's pretty much it.

Tombs. Are you releasing this model at any time?? I wouldn't mind trying my hand to do a rebuild of it at some point.

there might be a problem tho now as the model owner may not want it to be rebuilt up if it was improving then i guess it would be okay but rebuilding he is not happy with so i reckon you might have to wait till the ship is released

update on the titans ive decided that ill do a few versions, USS and ISS and AGT Style USS titan's(3 in total) with cartoonish textures, and when the official schematic is released with the book i will give them a more realistic texture so in essence you will get six ships one set with cartoon like textures(will include luna and ganymede) and one set with more realistic look(will also include the luna and ganymede), expect an update on AGT version of the titan, i think this may end up as a ship in the end as there are models from the books i want to add, like the shuttle armstrong, and other bits and bobs

I had imagined the Armstrong as a type 11 shuttle like the one in Insurrection.  T'was not?

feeling a bit better so did some work on the AGT Titan
(http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/4615/agttitan7ze.gif)
this is sort of what i reckon would happen in the Changed future, instead of Admiral riker commanding enterprise he has Titan he upgrades her to this so it can reach warp 10+ velocity

::OMG NITPICK::

I was led to believe that Warp 10 was meaningless, as anything travelling at that velocity would occupy every place in the universe simotaneously (I just had to have misspelled that.)  It also causes an acellerated evolutionary cycle that inevitably leaves the person or persons travelling at Warp 10 as some sort of small quadraped.  (This was established in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager)

There's Transwarp, and the Sidewarp drive from Star Trek: Federation, as well as Quantum Slipstream.  Three ways to inexplicably sidestep the Warp 10 phenomenae.  ( I personally chose the Sidewarp drive for the alien refitted Revere. )

Now it is true that in TOS and "All Good Things", the captains/engineers say the ship is going faster than Warp 10.  However there are two things you should keep in mind:

1.)  It's generally believed that after the TMP era Starfleet Redrew the warp charts from Warp 10+ to Warp 1-9.  Warp 10 in the original series was NOT the velocity seen in Voyager.

2.)  The alternate future seen in AGT may well have been Q's creation.  Remember, the past in AGT was also radically different.  In part because Q didn't show up, and because of the Anti-Time rift.  My point is that Q probably wouldn't care about accuracy.

think ill remove the two extra nacelles and add atolm/Azelms Large nacelle from the premonition and change what i said to transwarp

If the Luna class is the Titan from the books , what ship is this ?

A nice Photohack is probably what it is.  If that's an official cover, it needs work on modifying the ship's starboard nacelle so it doesn't give away too much the fact that it's a cross between a Galaxy-class (Saucer), Sovereign-class (Stardrive), and Andrew Probert's concept 24th-century Fed Starship pre-1987/TNG (Warp Nacelles).

I like the 4 Nacelled one really well.
