Oh man, that's even worse then waiting a week after It's out. We gotta get your rig upgraded.
Just tell the wife, that with a new machine, you can show more colors for her Jewelry.

You computer guys make me think of auto mechanics; they drive the clunkiest deathtraps on the road. ::)

Borrowed a copy from a fried to see if it would work on my machine.
It won't. I meet the reqs, but my video card chipset is unsupported...which is too bad, really, cuz it's a nice card. Problem is, I can't upgrade without buying a whole new motherboard: I bought the comp just before AGP slots were mandatory and well before PCI Express. So all I have for upgrade slots is old-school PCI, and none of the cards Oblivion supports come in that flavor.
Of course, sooner or later, it will provide an excuse for an new CPU.:)

Hey his computer may not be the fastest thing on the net, but once you get a good bit of steam going up in the boiler it will getcha there!

Galciv II is great! Its a very worthy successor to the original and I think even topples the MOO2 crown as the best 4x ever (I tried to like SE IV but it felt too much like "Spreadsheets At War!") so take my blurb review with a grain of salt of course

The ONLY thing that kept me from loving the GalCiv series was the lack of fleet combat, as opposed to a bunch of single ships running around. Have they, by chance changed that?
Also, moving this to the games thread.
-
Yup. You can now build fleets but are limited in how large they are to your logisitcs tech cause fleets get some really huge bonuses and also due ot the fact that 10k ships would make any machine chug since the graphics are nice and improved. This is moddable of course so you can have up to 100 ships on each side. The game could really be 2 or 3 generations ahead of the original in almsot every respect but since the first made a lot for Stardock they put a lot of money into this one and are still updating it constantly with game tweaks, small bugfixes (the game is really stable on my machine only a few CTD's but be sure you have the latest drivers for your card since the game is really sensitive that way) and features additions they didnt think of or didnt have time to do.
Plus (and this is big for many including me) is the fact that there is no on disc copywrite protection! Heck if you have Stardock Central you can download the game as many times as you want anytime you want to any computer you own with the included cd-Key. There is no ubercrap like Starforce or even securrom or safedisk. I was really looking forward to HOMM5 but I refuse to have that system destroying worm Starforce placed on my computer.

Oh... now I'm interested. But first I have to find my Uncommon Valor disk and start a game with AcePylut.
-
I won't be getting this till the endof the semester- but it's on the 'to buy' list.
Right now, studying takeds up all my time and Christina takes up all my money.
-
Well add me to the list. I finally got my copy today. I never thought I'd say it. But even a sewer looks beautifull in this game.
