The mesh on this ship is complete. Textures need to be applied.
-
A cool max rendered shot...

this design is great but the impulse thrusters on the primary hull will burn down the nacelles insides at the bussards
-
LOL... that's funny. It's not my design, so I can't dictate how it looks. I agree with you that it would probably cause catastrophic damage to the warp engines. My only possible reasoning for the design is that bussard collectors collect hydrogen, and impulse engines probably expell some hydrogen. So perhaps some of the impulse emissions are "re-absorbed" through the bussard collectors and "re-stored" as fuel. Or maybe there's some kind of an electro-magnectic field in that area that re-directs the impulse emssions away from the bussard collectors. Honestly though, I really don't know. All I know is that's how the reference looked. Even the original designer (who only made a plastic model of the ship) says my model is very accurate to what he made. So I'm not going to mess with it. Hey, this is Star Trek... things that would be bad ideas are some how, in ways that we do not understand, being good ideas. Should I point out Voyager and Enterprise (I sincerely appologize to any Voyager and/or Enterprise fans if I offended them by that comment)?

NICE! How many polies?
-
Oh... poly count aint too high. It's just only 10135. ;D
-
YES YES YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've wanted this design since the first time I saw her on Starship Modeler. PLEASE keep us posted on the progress
-
I figured someone like you ModelsPlease would like it. :P . Anyways, DJ Curtis from BCU sent me a message saying that he would be more than happey to show me how to texture in 3ds max. So I might actually do the textures for this ship. Now, I can't promise any good results from this since I've never textured before.
-
Someone has been busy. Now if only soemone would get off their lazy bum and texture them.... ;D
-
Absolutely stunning.
.....and then I look at my fed designs, and once again am reminded exactly why I shouldnt do feds....see above hehe.

Perhaps you should bribe him to be on BC2.

If your textures are half as good as your mesh - I'm gonna have to take a seat before I read this thread again. Nice job, how long you been modelling?
Did you learn in a formal class or on your own with a book/tutorials? If it was by yourself, what were your sources? So I can read them.

Very nice work.

Redneck, like everybody, I started with milkshape (which really, really sucked!). Then I downloaded Gmax (it was free at the time). I did one tutorial that came with the program and that was it. My folks got 3ds max 7 for christmas 2004 and I just got better by experience and fooling around with some of the stuff in 3ds max. Some people online gave some tips aswell on what to do. But I basically just experiemented with different tools and techniques. I just need to figure out how to texture. I hate relying on people because I know they got better things to do. Plus, I can use the extra skill.

Beautiful work.

he has been or is in the process of being deployed for military service, so it's defenetly on hold.
