Title: Superman Returns (no spoilers here, just rate it ;))
Post by: Tus-XC on June 28, 2006, 10:51:43 pm
I thought it was very well done, one of the best movies i've seen in a while :).  Truely a movie worthy of being part of the Superman saga

Please avoid spoilers, but to those who have seen it:

Too scary for a 6 year old, sensitive girl?

Thx, DM

Some of Supermans problems (http://www.rawbw.com/~svw/superman.html).

Granted that the poor oaf is not entirely sane. How could he be? He is an orphan, a refugee, and an alien. His homeland no longer exists in any form, save for gigatons upon gigatons of dangerous, prettily colored rocks.

As a child and young adult, Kal-El must have been hard put to find an adequate father-figure. What human could control his antisocial behavior? What human would dare try to punish him? His actual, highly social behavior during this period indicates an inhuman self-restraint.

What wonder if Superman drifted gradually into schizophrenia? Torn between his human and kryptonian identities, he chose to be both, keeping his split personalities rigidly separate. A psychotic desperation is evident in his defense of his "secret identity."

Cant wait till the sequel comes out though. ;D

They just cant end it like that.

Saw it; don't think that highly of it, both in terms of the performance of the actors and the plot.  I'd rate it below Superman 3 but above Superman 4.

Movie was pretty good.  I saw it at a IMAX theater and my only complaint was the sound.   They proudly claim 14,000 watts of sound, and my ear drums don't doubt it. ;)    The 3D was pretty cool ......

I'm trying to think back a few years when I had to worry about that.  There are no ugly, nasty monsters, ghosts, dead people getting up and attacking.  No gross stuff like that.

If you don't mind, I'll PM you as I might accidentally divulge spoilers.

I enjoyed it and would rate it with the previous Superman 1 and 2.  (I didn't think too much of the old Superman 3, and even less of 4.)

I watched it yesterday and enjoyed it.  I'm going to let my 6 year old daughter watch it, there is only one seen I'm really objectionable about letting a child that young see.  No spoiler, but just make sre to cover your child's eyes for the first 10-15 seconds after Lex Luthor and Co. return to the mansion for the first time.

Every comic book has been made into a movie now. That's why we have to start recycling them. Last year was Batman, this year it's Superman. I'm not wild about the idea, but if it keeps them from making Elektra 2: Elektra Boogaloo, I'm all for it.
