Here is my redo on the Makur class. It was intended as a replacement for both the Galor and the Keldon, and sits somewhere between them in total mass, but has better armor, is faster, and has a better weaponry layout. She is slightly less menuverable than the Galor, slightly more than the Keldon.
The main difference in this ship is the extreme upgrade to armor protection around the warp core, a known defect in the Galor class. Almost all Cardassian ships are designed for deep space operations, and this ship is no exception. It carries a full crew, and all of the sensors needed for solo missions.
The other notable improvement is the bridge module. Originally the Galor and the Keldon had a seperable bridge module, but the docking apparatus quite often failed, proving fatal for the crew. The CU solved this problem by actually retrofitting a Veron class scout with a recess plate on the ventral hull, allowing it to dock with the ship. The Veron is fully functional when separated, with its own armament and warp capability, allowing the ship an added quotient of firepower in seperation mode when needed.
This mesh still needs alot of work, but I wanted to post the progress sofar. I originally designed it differently, but Wicked Zombie's Cardassian design inspired me to redesign here in the fashion shown below. His work, as always, is superb.
At any rate, here is the progress sofar.

I'm glad you like it. I added more detail, and corrected the mesh errors....I still have to fix some of the mirroring, and she should be a done skinny. I created two different types of phaser elements for this model...a standard pyramid type for the main hull, and a smaller squarish one for the sep module. The main body has around 20 phaser elements or so, the sep module around 10.
Note that the spiral disruptor, the warp plasma vents and the impulse vents on the sep module are greyed out when it is docked to the ship. The phaser elements are active though...hence the color. I gave all the phaser elements the same blue color as the spiral disruptor, though it appeared that the original Galor had them in a more whitish color. I may change the hue when i do the textures...colors are for reference only.
I also added some greebles and paneling, they are separate objects, so I can remove the details that I want to subsitute textures for if I wish. The polys sit around 4k or so right now, so I think my detailing is done.
At any rate, here is a closeup of the crew module....note the pyramid phaser elements....and the sep module with the added greebles.
A side note....I have decided on a color scheme for the spiral phasers. In the show, both red and blue is shown as phaser colors, so I decided to set the color based on how advanced/powerful the spiral phaser assembly is. Red will be the base color...the lowest power weapon. Blue is the mid weapon, purple will be the high power weapon. So on my Hudon and Hudal you will see purple spiral phaser blocks.....a very dark purple.

damn i really should stop taking time off i always miss a stunning model, great job cant wait to see her with clothes on.
Will you be releasing it with the seperation so people can play with the seperate ships?
Yes, the sep module will be a sep ship that can stand on it's own, and a modified version will also be a stand alone model, kind of a heavy shuttle or scout, ala runabout.

looking great. Can't wait to see the texturing.
