Title: Monitor Calibration
Post by: Bonk on July 22, 2006, 06:04:21 am
More research... ;)

Have you ever calibrated your monitor or recalibrated it when changing it? Most of the modeling gang probably have, but I wonder about other folks.

I use the Adobe Gamma wizard approach myself and find it makes a significant difference to display quality. Though any fullscreen directx or opengl apps will kill the gamma loader's settings and I need to rerun it after exiting the fullscreen app before woking with photos or any web color work...

A demo of photoshop should provide you the opportunity to calibrate with Adobe Gamma...
Otherwise, most video drivers have a gamma adjustment in their settings. In general, maximise contrast and minimise brightness with the monitor controls first

If you have never calibrated your monitor you will probably notice a significant difference, particularly with the Dynaverse.Net forums default theme.

Thoughts? Experiences? Please post here!

My mac has a built-in gamma adjuster that (as far as I can tell) doesn't need adjusting much.
