Title: We should be able to do this in SFC3
Post by: Teeth_03 on March 09, 2003, 09:15:26 pm
In SFC2(don't know about 1,never played it),you could switch between commanding the ships in your fleet. But that was unrealistic. So we should be able signal the ship in your fleet that u want to command to lower their shield in your direction and beam yourself over. That should be available in all situations(skirmish, conquest, campaign).Would you want that to be possible

yes
no

I say no because the fleet AI in SFC never worked properly to begin with. Often, you would tell your AI wingman to one thing, it would promptly go off and do something completely boneheaded -- often resulting in it's death. This way at least you can't complain "But I told fred to stay behind me, not charge at the starbase alone with his sheilds down!"

So, even though this is one of those over-simpliifcations I like to complain about, it's better than the frustration of  the broken fleet commands in SFC2/OP.
