Looks pretty cool, especially with her clothes on.  ;D

She could be an early (or current) SFB Fed police cutter.

sorry for the crusty looking modeler shots, deepexplo gave up on me so no more nice shots until i make renderings with lw :p
trying to put on some details, propably need to change the font and something else... pretty tedious stuff, with my sk1llz on psp and with texturing generall...

bloody love those renders dude she looks sweet i might have to ask for a custom TNG mesh for a texture job of my own :P

Yeah thanks, anywho, any idea how to do floodlights (you know like over the registeries) properly? I just cant get them done done on PSP. Its seriously breaking my balls... thats the only thing left to do before this thing is done >:/

Thanks to DD too, especially for letting me use your texture bits and so forth <3

I mostly use photoshop, but use psp for flood/spot lights. I take the final texture (.bmp) and without zooming in put the lights wear I want them, Adjust the size, brightness, etc... Enter, then backstep to remove the lighting from the color map. You actually only want to apply the lights to the light map, not the color map.
Create a blank texture of the same size, medium grey (128 brightness, 0 saturation). Apply the lights to this texture using the "last used" setting. I usually double the intensity and set darkness at 50%, but you can vary that to taste, then enter. Adjust brightness and contrast to get a black background and the light's brightness where you want it and save it. Stick it in as a seperate layer on the psp version of the texture it's for under the other glowy areas on the texture (windows, etc.) but above everything else. Flatten and save either grayscale, the way Taldren did it,  or 8bit (256 color) if you want to have colored light maps, for warp glows and stuff,  and use as little memory as possible.

I hope this is helpfull. It's a pretty "down and dirty" description, I know. :)

P.S. I love the shots in space dock.

Unf ;P Horribly complicated. I know how to make lightmaps in general but its the damn floodlights that are giving me insane amounts of trouble. Just cant get em done with PSP's normal plugins and thats all I got :<

Got msn rod? I could use your help :>

some lightning tests. the logo on the wing isnt lit up yet and the rest of the floodlights have to redone as well (and propably impulse and nacella ones too)

yes, with a lot of Phaser 3 that ship will be good, unless its agains a cargo with drones.  ::)

I am not exactly catching your drift here, so to say... You mean i should change the weaponry? I gave it 5 impulse engines to compensate for having only front arc covered with weapons :p
However, I do know that I will have to retexture the arse ends of nacellas and the impulse engines, right now they look just red+yellow, i would believe :D

Also, is it just me or does the ship actually look somewhat B5ish?

well since you don't have strong shield you will get blast because of the drones, sure 5 impulse might be good, depending of how much power the impulse have?,  but Phaser 3 in pack will nead to fire at close range, unless you put Phaser G.

Very nice model.. can I ask how you made the intial clay renders? and if your willing the movie type ones too?

Thanks, sorry 4 the newbee questions.

initial ones by radiosity, dockshots are just normal scenes with a rendering filter. rendering in Lightwave, ofcourse :>

And as for the model, its done, but its standing on my hd until i can get someone to do the floodlights properly :P

Ok, thanx...

Fallenwarrior I saw simular renders on sci-fi meshes and they were referred to as clay, i think because their soft, show detail in the mesh and look a little like clay, and as you pointed out... without textures lol

Sorry, Windows update fried my (wireless) internet connection. When they tell you to only get your drivers from the manufacturers website, NOT FROM WINDOWS UPDATE, believe them! I'm back up now though. I'll look for you, Mackie.

Awesome - Looks retro, clean lines, I love it. I'll order a dozen for my fleet. Need to beef up defenses in the Alpha Quadrant.
Hold a second I am under fire - ambush - 1 carrier and 3 destroyers - Hard to port - incoming weapons fire - brace for impact...............

You know this would make a good orion ship too. I remember cleeve's wanderer having fed like nacelles. Either way it's another fine ship. I'd buy ya a beer but I'm sure you're always fully stocked... ;D
