A group of American aerospace engineers have written a book on how to defend the earth against alien invasion.
Travis Shane Taylor, Bob Boan, Charles Anding and T Conley Powell hold a variety of PhDs and other degrees in hard sciences and technology. All have worked on weapons and aerospace programmes for defence contractors, NASA and various parts of the US forces. Taylor and Boan also claim expertise in various kinds of technical military intelligence-gathering.
Their book An Introduction to Planetary Defense: A Study of Modern Warfare Applied to Extra-Terrestrial Invasion is out now in paperback, and getting a fair bit of play in the media.
My prediction of such an invasion? 90 minutes after the attack begins we've lost.

I'd agree too. If they have the technology to wander across the stars, we're toast. We're even more toast than the Aztecs were vs. Cortez, more toast than the Indians vs. the colonists because the technological gap between us and anyone who can travel across the stars to invade us...will be so vast as to be the difference between our current tech and that of the chimps who use tools on our own earth.
Might even be less than 90 minutes.

What could we do for example if aliens set up magnetic catapults on Mars and every second launched a 1 ton rock (or ice ball) at the Earth targeting power plants, raliroad crossings, harbors, major road intersections and airports?

Or they could be like the Psychlo: Gas Drones drop out of wormholes, unload their breathegas, and 10 minutes later we're done.

we already have the ultimate weapopns agains them, "windows vista" it will crash there computer and crash on earth so we can stole there technologie and kill them with there weapons ;D
or we can send mickael jackson after there kids and the will leave us alone :o

David Gerrold in his "War against the Chtorr" series had an alien invasion by terraforming Earth to the alien standards. It began with seeding bacteria to prepare the soil for alien plants and spread diseases to remove large quantities of the larger animals. In the book the plagues cause 90% casualties before it is recognized that what is happening is not purely natural. So it could just as easily be their germs get us.
