Have been trying to move my sister’s computer to a wireless network. In the process noticed that she was running IE 5, so thinking that making the move to a wireless set up would be easier with IE 7 I installed it. After that was installed, an error notice appeared stating that IE 7 was incompatible with MSN toolbar (she was using MSN dial-up) and asked if I wanted to look for an update. I clicked yes and the system froze up. After reboot, IE 7 will lock up any time I try to do anything in Internet Settings and will not go to any web page. Firefox works just fine on that machine with the wireless connection so I know that the problem is with IE 7 itself. I've tried to reinstall IE 7 thinking something was corrupted but no luck. I have also uninstalled MSN toolbar. At this point I'm out of ideas any input would be appreciated.

That's a tough one. Anything in the registry still? Maybe under services that could be making an MSN call? Can you re-install IE7 over or do a reapair?
Sorry man, never had a problem like that.

Yeah I tried to reinstall IE 7 without any luck. MSN was removed from the registry as well, sorry should have included that in the original post.

Just thought I'd drop a line and say that I was able to resolve the issues I created. Between using system restore and downloading and installing the latest MSN software I was able to fix the issues. However her system still won't install a working copy of IE 7, I tried to install it one more time but IE 7 kept freezing on me and forced me to use system restore again. I'm not sure why IE 7 won't work on her system but that is something I will allow her to figure out. I don't want to do any more harm then I already caused.
Thanks anyway everyone.
