Sad news for those of you who read the Wheel of Time. I just found out that during the month of September Robert Jordan died. For you in the military he served in the military during Vietnam, and earned several distinguished medals inclusive of the Distinguished Flying Cross. His final novel in the Wheel of Time was not finished. However he did leave enough notes, and composed it to his wife, so that it can be finished if the family is able.
Condolences to the Jordan family.

Darn, was looking forward to the conclusion to the series. He had a lot of ground to cover, that's for sure. I wonder how it will all turn out.

No idea.

I know him as one of the Post Howard Conan writers. Quite good.

What's a post-howard conan writer?
-
One who wrote Conan books after Howard had written.
Aka, normally someone other than Howard who wrote Conan books.
Some who wrote Conan during the period after the years Howard wrote Conan.
I believe RJ had a trilogy of Conan books if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah I liked the way he approached Conan. Actually to be esoteric I could have said Post Howard/Carter DecAmp...since he was in that group of writers that came after Lin Carter and L Sprague DeCamp who tried their hand at writing Conan stories.
But enough of that.
