You know was just looking at some of the ship models and a thought came to me, it has nothing to do with the models really but.....
I am wondering how long it might be before when you watch the shuttle take off, and on that big red gas tank it will say, "Drink Coca-Cola" and on the booster rockets, "Nike/Air" and other things like that.

Actually I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. I'm sure it has to do with some pesky regulation that says government agencies cannot take private funding though.

Or, if there's a Columbia-type disaster the company's logo won't be the last thing viewers see as the vehicle vanishes in a burst of flames and liquid oxygen. There's also the fact that few people, apart from some NASA/space nerds like us, who actually care and watch when a shuttle goes up.

Now an explosion might not be horrible advertisement for say Coke or Nike, in fact if it does blow up, then more people would see it.
But now if the logo was "Intel inside", that would look bad.
