Title: July 4th Weekend Maintenance Notification
Post by: FA Frey XC on July 04, 2008, 04:06:24 pm
Hello,

We'll be doing some much needed maintenance, including putting in the new 10,000 BTU AC unit in the server room / my study.

The entire environment will be down, and I mean everything, for several hours. This could happen tomorrow (Sat, July 5th) - it could happen Sunday (July 6th).. I can say it won't happen tonight!

We're implementing the final core server updates to prepare for our development environment. I'm also changing out a SCSI backplane on UBER-LOKI, the D.Net webserver. We're decommisioning MONITOR and implementing YMIR. The monitoring page (http://monitor.dynaverse.net/) will be offline for a day or two as I get everything transitioned over.

We'll then be looking to get the gaming server back up and running. I'm hoping to get a good dual core motherboard that's RAID 0/1 capable with PATA too, we'll max the memory w/ high performance DDR and have a sweet Campaign server back in no time - the Forge will live again.

Thanks to all of you - your support and your continued patronage.

Regards,

-The D.Net Admin Team

AC! Woot! Good show man.  8)

I wanted to talk to you at some point about the make of modem, snmp and the commercial account. MRTG can be configured for some of the newer modems if snmp access is enabled by the ISP (particularly for Motorola SB5100's and up). That would make getting the old bandwidth charts we're used back up a snap (relatively speaking). Definitely something worth investigating as it sure is helpful.
