well my com have a problem with his connection to the net, its not the web page but like the connection that causing problem, web page will not show or not fully and i can't download anything correctly, any software will be corrupted.
its the only computer that do that, the motherboard is new so is the power supply and i change the main hd, so i don't know what is it that gave me problem, i don't have money to put on it again.
any help to fix that problem would be great.

Bad Network card...If its build into the motherboard check and make sure all the setting for it are correct. Or you can disable the onboard nic and install a seperate Network Card (this should run you about 10 bucks).
Freebie would be to download on another machine and reinstall the lastest Network drivers and or change the network cable (doubtful this seldome goes bad)

i know its not the cable since i change it and not luck, i will go get a second hand network card and see if it go well, since the motherboard is new i don't see how it can be that.

I don't think it's the network card, if it was you wouldn't be able to download or view anything regardless if it is correct or not. This sounds like a software or settings issue. What Internet browser are you using and what is the computer connected to (router, modem, ect)?

Javora is right when posting this type of question it is always best to include as much hardware and software information as possible.
I would suggest (if you know how) uninstalling the network card drivers and then reinstalling them before buying hardware. Make sure you have copies before removing them.

Also Anti-Virus program (and please be sensible and don't say McAfee or Norton.. those are notorious for problems).. also if you are using a firewall or router.. if so, which ones.. and please don't say you are running a firewall with a router since that is redundant.. a router is a hardware firewall.

router: linksys wireless-G wrt 54gs
connected by cable
antivirus (i think is CA)
no firewall
i taught it might be the driver that i did not install correctly, i know that some web page need like flash but it would told me that it required it.
browser i use firefox 3.0, well i download the firefox 3 from download.com

I see what you mean, first off look in the bios to see if you have a yukon or marvell nic.
Then you need to know if you have a 64 but os or a 32 and what OK. That should narrow it down.
Before doing all this though,
Can you download from other sites?
If you turn off CA and try to download can you download then?
Turn off any Firewall and see if you can download?
Not that you'll ever want to be on the internet without antivirus or firewall but one of them might be messing with the downloads.
I would do this before messing with your driver.

i can download but its corrupted, ie or firefox will give me the same result the antivirus is off and there no firewall.
all web page show problem, there not ok, i can't download anything with the com, all i can do is play games, listen to music and movies, i can't surf the net, sometime the page wont load fully or won't find it, i can't go on youtube cause i need a sofware that is corupted when i download it. >:(

Ok... It seems like I remember Don saying that he was using an older version of Windows so I don't think we have to worry about the whole 32 bit vs. 64 bit questions. But just for kicks and giggles can you remind me what version of Windows you are using?
This is what I would do if faced with an issue like this:
1. Uninstall the NIC drivers from the computer.
2. Shut the computer down.
3. Move the NIC card to another PCI slot just in case. Make sure you are properly grounded before attempting this.
4. Reboot the computer.
5. Reinstall the correct NIC drivers. Download them at the library if you have to.
6. Disconnect the router and connect the computer directly to the cable modem temporarily.
7. Check the IP addresses and make sure they are correct.
8. Call the Cable Company and see if they are getting a signal from your computer. Ask them if they recommend any specific settings used.
9. Drag the computer into the back yard and shoot it... twice. Ok just kidding, I'm in one of those moods again.
If none of the above works post back and I'll go from there. Hope this helps.

i use win xp, it might be a software problem.
its so annoying since i replace the mother board i got problem with the computer, its heavy and i don't have a car and money for a taxi or i would go to the computer store that are good, they're are one that is not too far that i should try and see if they can fix it, i can use my back up computer and play sfc until Friday. :2gun:

Could also be an error correcting or parity issue with the port.

Use your backup computer and download the following and burn to disk
Spybot search and destroy (Install the program itself, not the Tea Timer or SD Helper)
Ad-Aware 2008
AVG v8 Anti-Virus (free edition)
Once you have these burned to disk, on your problem PC, Uninstall your current Anti-Virus using Add-Remove programs.
Install these programs from CD and see if they will update from the net and then run a full system scan with each program..
I bet you will find a hidden virus on your system effecting your downloads.

well i can use this one to download and transfer it after, but its not only the download its the pages that have problem, page not found, i try again and i have it but some time i have to do it again and again and it wont show up completely.
its annoying when i can't seem to fix it no Mather what i do since i replace the mother board i get problem with it.
i will try pc cillin and see if there any virus in it, since day 1 it wont work correctly.

When I had Hughes satellite there were a lot of proxy server settings I had to configure in my DNS and DHCP configurations. Additionally, the default gateway of my router was configured from the factory to conflict with the satellite internet receiver. IIRC you do not plug the Sat box into the "Internet" plug-in on the router, you plug it into port 1 where a computer would normally go.
My guess is a config issue of this type.

Don,
Look to see if you new Motherboard has a built in Firewall for its NVIDIA chip set.
There are several forum posts of this problem and it seems the most prevalent fix is to turn that off an allow just the windows firewall.
If that doesnt work get your hands on a second Nic Card and try to see if the problem goes away.

well all is ok now, i got to the computer show and get it fix.
i will not let that problem happen again, if i have to get out with the com i will put it in a recycling bag (blue bag) to protect it.
anyway thanks for the help.
