Title: BattleClinic's Community Docks Open!
Post by: SghnDubh on March 28, 2009, 08:54:35 pm

Hi all,

It's been a long time since I've posted here...wow...but with FileFront closing, my first thought was to all of the modelers hanging out here.

I just want to let you know that BattleClinic's Community Docks are still open and accepting models, mods, and more for anything SFC related.

The docks are here:  http://www.battleclinic.com/docks/dock.php

Thanks folks, and enjoy!

I agree, its the best one around. I wish they would overhaul the search function, though >.<

Agreed. One of the best community site but with the worst search function. It can only search for starting words, not key words.

Example: Search "Sovereign" will list "Sovereign Class" in results, but no "U.S.S. Sovereign".

What I would like is to have more accountability.  Every once in a while you'll see a ship posted that either belongs to someone, but someone elses name is on it, or a ship will be uploaded, using parts and textures from other authors within this community, and they were never asked for permission.

I've seen it happen quite often.  Normally I just bring it to the attention of the authors whose work wasn't credited or permission given.

The search function is also in dire need of a overhaul, as everyone else here has stated.

All right, probably not the best community site, I think...

I had requested advanced search feature about just one year ago, but without any response.

If you care about this important function, please help reply it and let the admin know that we need it.

Hey guys thanks for the props.

Search is fixed, please tell us what you think.

BTW I don't mean to step on any toes -- Frey or others -- here at D.net  ;D

Hello,
Thanks for your response and I now see that key word searching is fixed. I have made two pics to show what I expected to see in the searching features. I'm not sure if they are possible in your current database software, but those features help users when using such a large file repository. I hope you could consider supporting these features if possible.

Sincerely,
You-Cheng Hsieh
