When are we ever going to get past the day of rocket technology. When are we going oget the space plane to replace the shuttle as Nasa seems to be going the other back to rockets?

Too many people believe NASA is around to advance technology and get us into space.

It's sole means and reason for existence is to create jobs for certain congressional districts. If that means doing things bigger, dumber, and more expensive, well then so be it.

Long live big Gov't bureaucracy!

I fear that I am going to have to agree with NJA on this one. I know this sounds sick, but I cheer every time I hear about the Chinese space program moving forward for this very reason: Competition breeds innovation (usually).
