Went and talk to them and looks like they will be doing it and my car passes the sniff test so far.
Funny the guy I talk too said because of my credit the only other way I would qualify is to come up with allmost half of the cars cost as a down payment four to five thousands buck. not until next year would I be able to come up with that kind of money
So If this program is the only chance I got to get one then I'm going for it.

You've got a car that qualifies? The way the program reads, I understand that there aren't many that do. I've got what most people would call a clunker (92 Lumina APV) but since it still gets 21 mpg I'm out.

From the cars.gov site
How do I know if my car or truck is an eligible trade-in vehicle?
There are several requirements (but you also have to meet certain conditions for the car or truck you wish to buy). Your dealer can help you determine whether you have an eligible trade in vehicle.
Your trade-in vehicle must
* have been manufactured less than 25 years before the date you trade it in
* have a "new" combined city/highway fuel economy of 18 miles per gallon or less
* be in drivable condition
* be continuously insured and registered to the same owner for the full year preceding the trade-in
* The trade-in vehicle must have been manufactured not earlier than 25 years before the date of trade in and, in the case of a category 3 vehicle, must also have been manufactured not later than model year 2001
Note that work trucks (i.e., very large pickup trucks and cargo vans) have different requirements.
For passenger automobiles, the new vehicle must have a combined fuel economy value of at least 22 miles per gallon
According to www.fueleconomy.gov the combined for my 1990 Bonneville is 19. So no new wheels for moi.

I checked again and the site says I'm only supposed to be getting 17. So while it qualifies, I've only had it since April so *I* don't.
oh well.

Well Email I got today said they were changing some of the numbers on the cluckers deal, so I went back to the dealer and so far everything looks good, it still qualifies. Just got to wait on the final dission on my credit app. Have to go back tommorow and find out.
The Ford dealer ain't in on it so I'll get a Colorado instead of a Ranger. Told em all I need is a base model with AC and he quoted me 220 a month, which is doable.
Man I hope my luck is finaly changing.
