Title: Mutiny?
Post by: knightstorm on July 17, 2009, 11:46:05 pm
I ran into an odd bug today.  My AMD kept coming back online on its own.  Has this ever happened to anyone before?

I have noticed that if I turn it off, switch to a different weapon panel, and return to AMD/ADD, it always says that it's online; it doesn't shoot at anything or use up ammo, but it just says it's on. Was it shooting at drones even after you turned it off?

SFC2?

I've had that bug before if that's the game you are talking about.  I have no idea what causes it however.

If you pressed Red Alert in the interim it might turn it back on, especially if you set things up using Shift+Scroll Lock.

Several of the UI's have readout (or other) problems such as Mace described:

The Klingon Tractor Beam UI starts the mission with the left rotation arrow lit up. It doesn't make captured objects rotate left until you click on another setting and then back to left.

I've seen AI drop WW with a (supposedly) destroyed shuttle bay.

In the Energy MFD the "other" readout of your energy usage is wrong. If you add up all the energy you are using you will see that you are using more than you can generate. IIRC it is tied to the shield grid.

There are several more.

guess the next question is does it happen on more races then just the Feds.  The UI stuff I looked at so far seems fine, could be the QUIL code part that hands back the wrong info.  If that is true, it should happen on all UI's.

looking through the Q3 the AMD has a variable or function or something named.
