I began playing with these a couple of days before F9thceturus announced the new models he is working on. I've seen another X-Ship thread or two, seems a number of us have had the same urge recently. I've got the cruiser ready for release, just hoping to clear one or two small details up then I'll upload. The destroyer is very close too, just have a small issue at the back of the warp nacelles. The running lights are in the correct position on the upper nacelle but too far forward on the lower. I have the dreadnaught underway too, same issue as the destroyer and some lighting problems but not far off.

Here's a few pics of the destroyer.

Very cool! Love these tweaked textures!

The blue and white makes for a very clean look, very nice!
-
Awesome! Looks almost like the Destroyer from Orion Pirates.

So now you know why I hate that lower hull on the CA and DN, lots of errors you have to hide with the textures. You an use the newer ones I did that Cent released on SFC3files, at least you can see where the textures are mapped for the bridge from those.
You will also want to run a gray line 1-2 pixels thick on the inside of the blue circle on the lower saucer of the destroyer. it will fix that error I left there with the blue bleeding onto the other area that you see on the third pic.
I do like the light blue you added to the under side of the Excalibur though

Yeah, the secondary hull on those old ships are really bad off. They were great for their day. Just enough detail while still being low poly. These days though, they're far outdated. The hulls I've mad aren't really much better, but they don't have the same mesh problems.

Exactly what I had in mind, I think I can fix the running light problem on the destroyer too.
BTW. I tried to upload the Cruiser to Battleclinic but I kept getting this error message. Anyone know if there are any issues there?

I was able to upload to Filefront: http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.com/file/Excalibur_Class_XCruiser;102723

Send the link to Mr. Q at battleclinic. When I haven't been able to upload something he's helped. That way we keep everything in on place.

I've fixed the underside of the saucer on the destroyer. It turned out that compressing and repositioning was the solution. My bright idea for the warp nacelles didn't work so I'm still looking at that.

i've been able to successfully upload the cruiser to BC http://sfc.battleclinic.com/docks/view.php?id=4710 and I've gone ahead and uploaded the destroyer as well http://sfc.battleclinic.com/docks/view.php?id=4711 . As I've admitted before, I'm only experimenting with G-Max a little at this point and not often making enough time to get very skillfull. I think I'm at the point where I know basically what would need to be done to fix the lower nacelle but not how to execute. :(

;D Nicely done! Your skills are much better than you give yourself credit for.

I have the same warp nacelle running light problem with the dreadnaught on one out of the three nacelles. I think it's a matter of re-mapping that area. I'd also like to re-set the lighting of a couple of the textures . . . I think I remember GAFY? posting information about that relating to the Material Navigator, but I can't seem to find any light settings. :-\ It's too bad because if I had that I could solve about half of the problems with the Tagor Talla i was working on.
