Title: F-22 Air Show
Post by: Wraith 413 on October 09, 2009, 08:57:00 pm
Got this today in an e-mail. I knew the F-22 could perform some amazing maneuvers, but I no idea it could do this. Simply amazing.

I don't know about the rest of them, but the F15's in my neck of the woods are all high time and running out of hours in the next 5 years or so if they don't slow down their usage.

The biggest advantage of the F-22 compared to the F-15 is its stealth, which while less useful in the current conflicts, would pay in dividends if the US had to fight someone with air defenses.

True short sighted of Congress to say that they don't fit the new war we are in now, so lets drop them.  If we end up in a true war against another country, they will be needed.  or something similar.

Get with the times people, warfare is so yesterday. Conflicts will now be solved in the Rose Garden with a case of beer and a round of "Kumbaya". Think of the cost savings!

Which were designed and deployed at the height of the cold war.

In other words, we don't need as many anymore.

Besides, you're forgetting the JSF which can perform anti-air roles.
