Since my CD drive broke down I had to use a no-CD crack in order to play any SFC game. I got into SFC3 after installing a 534B patch and then the no-CD, but I found at least two issues with the Klingon campaign. I have disabled visual themes, by the way.
1. In mission 3 (A Base Too Far) the mission asked me to recapture a base, yet there was no base. I only recaptured the freighter and, as such, failed the mission with only a measly 200 prestige. (I could make up for this financial failure later by defeating two Federation task forces)
2. In mission 6 (Anvil of Peace) the mission asked me to search for a disturbance in the asteroid field (supposedly a Romulan ship) but didn't find any. Therefore I couldn't complete the mission.
What must I do to get these campaigns fixed, another no-CD?

Ouch, too bad you did not check here first, SFC3 responds to the sfc.ini setting MakeItSo=1 under [UI]. That ini setting is all that is required to skip the cd check.
If you have used a no-CD crack that has modified the SFC3 executables, then your old campaigns will not work and you would have to start new ones. BUT I would be highly suspicious of any SFC3 no-CD crack when one is not required. It is an ini setting.
Now if all you have done is patched and changed the ini setting (not installed some random crack) then all you need to do is start new campaigns (campaigns will not work across patches).
If you have installed some kind of no-cd crack then you will need to restore genuine SFC3 executables that match the patch version you want to run. (you can find the main exe in the validatedclientfiles of the serverkit for the patch you want to run).

Roger, will do.

Patch 534b_Beta_2_Revision_2 does not need a NO CD Crack.. it is built in
from Taldren Software Inc (the developers)
Instal the game from the game CD or from an ISO file using a virtual drive
You will need a valid Unique SFC 3 CD Key to unlock the game while installing (unique CD key is also required for Online Dynaverse play since the client CRC checks CD keys and prevents duplicate keys from playing on the Dynaverse)
After game is installed patch with official game patch located http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163344600.0.html
Follow the instructions for your OS as posted
Once done installing game correctly, Open the sfc.ini game file in your Activision\SFC3 game folder with Notepad
under [UI] heading, at the bottom of the entries add
MakeItSo=1
This will disable the CD Validation check for SFC 3
Campaings will not be able to be continued under the patched version of the game.. as such you must delete old campaign saves.
Hope that this helps;

Maybe you guys can help me on that:
I´ve dug out my original SFC III game, installed it as usual, put in the CD-Key, installed the 534b patch and tried to start the game.
The Intro started as usual, but then the game asked me to put in the CD. I only have a single DVD-Drive which holds the original CD. I´ve tried to change the sfc.ini as suggested above, but it still asked for a CD when I started up the game...
any suggestions?

Are you running vista/7? Did you install to the dreaded Vista Program Files Folder Virtualised "Multi-User Solution" Disaster?
If so, you need to edit the "virtualised" sfc.ini. Or disable file virtualisation for SFC3... Or Run SFC3 as admin... Or look for an epic post on the subject by Pestalence and follow his instructions to the letter. ;D

Read my Post above for No CD issues.
also if you do not want to disable UAC (which I recommend that you do not) send me a PM and I will give you alternative install instructions for SFC 3 and patch.

Running the game as an admin worked. :)
Big thanks to both of you! I totally forgot how addictive that game could be ;)
