look! i tried to put the heavy-photon (OP) to work with sfc1 and here's what it got of it.
Did the game negative its colours or what?
EDIT: I have found the mistery.
The plasma snare and fast textures were converted to pcx using HP photo and imaging, and the heavy photon was converted using nero photo snap viewer. So if you convert a sfc2/op texture with HP photo and imaging, it will work in sfc1.
YAY!

Heavy photons are not coded for in SFC1 or 2. Whatever change you make in the shiplist apparently has the effect of changing the color. I'm surprised the game reads it as anything at all.

I thought SFCV just changed around the textures, but now that I'm looking at the picture, what I'm really wondering is how you got the game speed to 12!
-
oops... i made a 2 instead of 1... because the game was at speed 1, if you've looked closer you would've seen that the 2 is painted....
Changed the pic... thanks for noticing.

Haha, that paint job was pretty convincing though. I thought you might have found a way to change the top speed of the game (which I think is hard-coded into the source, but would be pretty impressive).

It looks good anyway.

I'm sorry but i have to disagree. I mean i replaced other things from OP to 1 and worked .
plasma S texture was replaced by plasma X texture and R one with the Snare one. they work just fine.
And why should it be such a surprise? i converted them to 256 PCX files.
I tried to make them *.bmp and played, an orion fired a plasma at me and instead of the texture, it appeared a white pixelated (big pixels 32x32) thing.
