Title: Dungeon Fighter Online
Post by: knightstorm on February 25, 2011, 07:28:18 pm
I just discovered DFO, its basically a free MMO, but the gameplay is based primarily on those arcade style 2d brawlers that I used to dump quarters into as a kid.  I just played some of the beginner dungeons.  It seems okay so far, but It doesn't seem to have a joystick option. Art design is okay, although I think I'd prefer an urban locale to the fantasy realm the game takes place in.  Does anyone here play?

I haven't heard of this before, but just looking around a little, it seems like a very neat idea. Is it less grinding and repetitive play than most traditional MMOs?

Its a brawler.  By definition its repetitive although fairly fast paced, you're basically kicking the @##$ out of hordes of walking punching bags, but there is a certain addictive quality to it.  The game incorporates RPG features like character leveling, armor, enhancements, and weapons, so grinding probably does play a role, although with that style of gameplay, skill probably downplays its importance compared to other MMOs.

Anyone interested in killing some goblins with me this weekend?
