Title: extended downtime

we apologize for the brief downtime yesterday and anticipate more downtime today as renovations are completed in the server room.

the reason for this downtime is all the dust that has permeated the entire house from the construction. this dust could not be avoided from all the renovation and we apologize for the delay. we thank you for your continued patience. the completion of the final touches of construction is anticipated for the end of business today. as such we will be shutting the servers down one last time during the peak of construction to avoid contamination of the servers from the dust.

btw, this massive renovations to the tune of $40k has improved the d.net home. about 1/4 of that budget was dedicated solely to the server room and the housing of the d.net servers

Hey all - checking in from the dentist. I really  >:(  dentists.

I talked to the contractor this morning, and today's downtime should be the last time we bring the servers down due to remodeling. We will have one more period after today, but this will be several weeks from now as I rack all the servers properly in their new home.

Dentist? You young people and your fancy gold plated fillings. In my day, we used to pack our teeth with our own construction dust. and we liked it!

Right! We -= might =- have another brief outage today as they finalize the server room.

We've got new ducting going in (the original ducting didn't work quite as we had hoped), as well as another 20 amp circuit.

I'm hesitant to allow the electrician to work on the server room with them up.

Ok, we're about to finish the sanding in the new living room, which the server room is attached to, so I'm going to shut down the servers for a bit longer.

Should be back up in a couple hours!

Everything should have been back up for the last several days.

Temp inside the server room is stable between 74-76.
