Title: SFC:Orion Pirates question and issue
Post by: rpsmith on August 07, 2011, 09:15:10 pm
I know, I know it's an old game ,but I still enjoy playing it.

Anyway, here is the problem:

My SFC: OP version is 2.5.5.2. I am on a laptop with Windows 7 (I am playing it with Windows 95 or 98 compatibility setting).

Recently, I have been experiencing a bug that I cannot fix. My ship (whether it is a stock ship or customized one) is taking auto damage. Meaning that though my ship exits a battle with no hull or internal damage at all, it is showing damage when I go to a sector with a base. It shows up in the damage bar as well.  It seems that the larger the ship, the more the damage. It does not multiply when I go through other battles, but seems to be static. I repair it and go to the next battle, but get the same results.

Can someone help me?

I've seen this bug, but sadly I don't know what causes it. Are you using a custom Shiplist?

yes, I am using a customized ship list. I forgot to mention that I reinstalled the game to no effect. I have used a customized ship list for a long time, but have never seen this problem till now. The auto damage seems to be added to any legitimate damage I take in combat.

Do you :

1.) Have your shortcut to the game edited to include the "start in" path?

If you are referring to the start up shortcut, I don't think it works now. I don't know why. Every time I try to use it, nothing happens.

Hi,
I am not sure I understand this. Can you rephrase it?
