Title: Out of memory error - This one has me stumped.

While I was playing SFC OP on my Win7 box I received the following error:

"Out of memory. Please free some memory, then retry."  With the option to quit or retry.

When I search this for this error I end up here:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893145 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893145)

I can't find the log on that the page talks about and the download takes me to a non Microsoft site which I don't trust.  Does anyone else here have any experience with this?  Thanks.

You have a memory leak and you need to increase you virtual memory as well shut down any services in msconfig that you don't need.

Thanks Age.  More to the point, SFC OP has a memory leak as this has only happened when I played SFC OP.  Right now, I've been getting around the issue by rebooting the system after I finish playing.  I've already removed everything I could in msconfig, I'll take another look at virtual memory (bumped VM from 4GB to 6GB).  I figured this might be a OS incompatibility that might have a solution that someone here has already come across.  Anyway thanks again.

I still find it hard that OP would cause a memory leak as it was designed for lower spec systems windows 98, P2 266ghz, 60gig hdd,64 mb of ram and low end agp card GForce MX440 I think.

I am wondering do you have any mods installed and installed them right?I never have problem with OP even on my old HP 1.5 P4 ,128 gig hdd and ram funny it can support windows 7.

I guess anything is possible Age, but I've never seen this error on this system until I installed SFC OP.  I don't have any mods installed just the 2.5.5.2 patch.  I'm running an older AMD CPU system, probably about 6 years old.  I'll get those stats later if you want them.  Thanks again.

Update:

The error hasn't popped up since I posted.  However the game is crashing after running more than a couple of hours.  I have found that rebooting the system after I play each time helps.
