Title: Thank You Very Much David Ferrell
Post by: Corbomite on March 20, 2003, 05:01:38 pm
Thank you for leaving the I-Torps as is. I know it was a hard choice to make as it was not something you could reproduce on your end and it also makes OP and EAW incongruent on this point. It was a good idea, but ended up more trouble than it was worth in the end. I am sorry if I became a pest about it, but it ruined my favorite race so I felt I had to at least try. Again, thank you and good work to all of Taldren. Now you can spend your time on Black 9 like you should be and I am sure want to at this point.

If I remember correctly, no was not a word used...more like a loose allegory to an ananomical lesson if my memory of the conversation is correct.

Best,

A pity we can't have an option for single duty or double duty I-torps and G-racks.  That way server admins would control them and not the vocal minority.

I-torps, G-racks are all very good, but when are we going to have an upgrade on the bar fridges...?

Oh no you don't...

That will just lead to fresh demands for upgraded yogurt dispensers.

Thanks to Taldren for continuing to support OP.

OP I-Torps will fire one Torp per hardpoint per turn at targets that are not fighters or PF's. EAW I-Torps will fire one Torp per turn period at targets that are not fighters or PF's regardless of how many hardpoints the ship has. The OP version is the original release version of the I-Torps. In EAW 2036 the I-Torps were changed to reflect the proper (SFB) way they were supposed to operate. Unfortunately, many players experienced a problem where the I-Torps would lock up after the first shot and refuse to fire at all after that. Taldren could not reproduce the problem in order to track down the bug and it was finally decided for OP to leave them as they were (with the increased BPV adjustment to reflect their improved firing rate).
